Pioneer Pictures is an independent production company specializing in the development and production of premium commercial content for film and television.

 

Producers Robert S. Kravis and Karl R. Herrmann founded Pioneer in 2013 and are currently producing Titan: The Life of John Rockefeller Sr., an adaptation of the best-selling biography by Ron Chernow to be directed by Academy Award nominee Lasse Hallström.

 

They are also executive-producing Cosmic Banditos, a scripted television series based on the cult hit novel by A.C. Weisbecker.

 

Prior to founding Pioneer, Mr. Kravis produced The Rum Diary, starring Johnny Depp, the action-comedy Lucky Number Slevin, starring Josh Hartnett and Bruce Willis, and Kenneth Lonergan's You Can Count On Me, starring Mark Ruffalo and Laura Linney.

 

Before joining up with Mr. Kravis on the NBC series My Own Worst Enemy, Mr. Herrmann worked for Sony Pictures on the Adam Sandler film Click, as well as Sam Raimi's Spider Man 3.
